Christian Thönes (right), Chairman of the Management Board of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT, and Dr. Matthias Fockele, Managing Director of Realizer GmbH.
Machine tool manufacturer, DMG MORI is strengthening its position in the additive manufacturing industry with a 50.1% acquisition of the shares in German AM leader, REALIZER.
As a global manufacturer of CNC-controlled lathes and milling machines, DMG Mori plans to significantly expand its capabilities with the integration of REALIZER’s selective laser melting (SLM) technology.
REALIZER has more than 20 years experience in the industry developing its SLM systems, which will now continue to be assembled at both REALIZER’s location in Borchen and at the DMG MORI site in Bielefeld.
“This is the perfect complement to our high-tech machines in the field of Advanced Technologies. Selective laser melting in the powder bed opens up completely new areas of application for our customers,” Christian Thönes, Chairman of the Executive Board of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT, commented.
Dmg Mori Service
DMG MORI has already shown an active interest in the impact of additive on the industry with the introduction of its LASERTEC 65 3D system, a hybrid AM and 5-axis milling machine, which combines the flexibility of AM with the precision of metal cutting. The REALIZER deal shows that the company is looking to accelerate this further as the demand from manufacturers for both traditional and AM solutions continues to grow.
Next time you launch R.app the.Rprofile is read and executed by R at startup. If R.APP is not running, this will cause R.APP to be started in the directory corresponding to the folder dragged. The same can be achieved on the command line – for example open -a R. Causes R.APP to be started using the current directory as the startup working directory. This feature is useful if you want different startup procedures defined by the.Rprofile; you canedit a.Rprofile (containing you personal initialization R commands) in a particular directory and usethe Preferences (or any other method mentioned above) to change the startup directory. Making the announcement at an open house event at DECKEL MAHO in Pfronten, DMG MORI also revealed that a Dusseldorf-based start-up ISTOS, which the company owns a share of 85%, has been erected to support its digital expansion and help customers transform their processes into fully digitised workflows.
ISTOS, which stands for “Innovative Software Technologies for Open Solutions” claims it will sustainably shape digitisation in the field of machining. The basis for the start-up is provided by CELOS, an APP-based control and operations software from DMG MORI.
'With ISTOS we have successfully managed to attract and gain a complete team of 15 experienced IoT experts,' says Christian Thönes, Chairman of the Executive Board of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT. 'By ISTOS we are speeding up our digital innovation process. I am convinced that ISTOS will support us and our customers with innovative solutions for digitisation.'
Dmg Mori Seiki Parts Distributors
Together with DMG MORI Software Solutions GmbH, ISTOS will develop individual customer solutions across the group. Initial results will be presented at the EMO event in Hanover on 18-23 September 2017.
